Figure Dressed in Black

A figure dressed in black, unknown to all mankind. Making his way slowly along the aisle as he approaches the altar. Look around. There are people everywhere, sitting in neat, orderly rows, grouped together, with sad, mournful faces. Seem all too familiar? Slowly the figure in black turns to you, one bony hand motioning you to move closer towards him, up on to the altar with him, the other bony hand holding and enormous, intimidating glaive. Take a peek inside the coffin. For a moment you stagger, unsure whom it is that is inside. Thinking again you finally come to recognize the individual lying in there. It’s you! You are the one lying within. Take another quick look at those who are around you. These people no longer seem like strangers. Now every one of the faces in the audience has a name. Each name, a name you know, or have known so well. All of them grieving, mourning over the loss of a loved one, a friend, a sister, a daughter, a cousin. You. Suddenly your flesh starts to crawl. Starts to burn, shrivel, and to disfigure. Your blood starts to drip from your eyes, nose, and mouth. Watching as it starts to turn black. You scream as your body turns into flames. It has begun.
